These single-use, waterproof adhesive patches contain all necessary sensors, a processor, and a wireless antenna in a footprint smaller than a smartphone.
While traditional 3-lead and 5-lead systems remain the gold standard for high-acuity patients requiring detailed ST-segment analysis, patches have become the default for general med-surg wards and post-operative recovery. Beyond basic heart rate and rhythm, modern telemetry units in 2026 now incorporate "Multi-Parametric" streams, including continuous blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), respiratory rate via thoracic impedance, and even non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP). This holistic data stream provides a much more accurate picture of a patient's clinical trajectory than heart rhythm alone.
